Winners Circle has moved to 6-6-1 after a push in the Suns game a few nights ago. Technically that counts as a win percentage of .500.
We need to take a commanding lead in the win column. With a big slate of NBA games tonight we should be able to do just that. Oh, ya... did I mention it is also Friday? And there's NFL Playoff games this weekend? We have a lot to unpack here but this is Winners Circle, featuring a pick from every NFL Playoff game.
WINNERS CIRCLE (6-6-1)
PICK 1: Texans vs. Ravens. I've always found the first round bye interesting for the #1 seed. Don't get me wrong they deserve it, but could there be something of a downside to it? Maybe rust can start to form? Honestly I'm just saying anything to justify liking the Texans with the points in this particular spot. Give me Texans +9.5 I think there's too many points separating teams who are trying to punch their ticket to the AFC Championship Game.
PICK 2: How I felt after the Texans/Ravens game is sort of the opposite for Niners v. Packers. I don't really care about how big the spread is in this one. I just think the 49ers are way too powerful this year to not win this one by 10+ points. They want to get back to the NFC Championship game and make right from last years loss to the Eagles. The pick is Niners -9.5
PICK 3: Bucs v. Lions is actually the playoff game that I am looking forward to the MOST. Yes, I am aware Josh Allen and Pat Mahomes are dueling it out later that night. I don't care. Because this game is being played to decide whether Baker Mayfield or the Detroit Lions will be playing in an NFC Championship game. Think about it, no matter how you slice it, Baker or the DETROIT LIONS will have a chance to play a game to advance to the Super Bowl. Never in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine a scenario like that. The Lions are getting 6.5 and I honestly do not like that but I really don't want to pick against Dan Campbell. I'll side cautiously on Lions -6.5
PICK 4: Chiefs v. Bills. The game that everyone is looking forward to. The QB rivalry that everyone has grown to love over the last 5 or so years. Allen has only had the opportunity to play for an AFC Championship one time. That AFC championship game back in 2020 showed the Chiefs as the better team. I think the same happens again, and Josh just can't get by Mahomes. However, there's no need to risk money line because the Chiefs are actually getting the points. Underdog Chiefs in the Playoffs with Mahomes is the rationale, Chiefs +3
PICK 5: I already know this pick will be an L and I will jinx it but, Lakers -7.5. I don't care.
PICK 6: For the last pick of this weekends Winners Circle, I'm gonna give the pick to the Pacers, fresh off their trade for Siakam, whether he plays or not they are still better. Pacers -5.5
